Christmas Gift box

Christmas Gift box

Christmas Gift Box is an annual community Service project of RAC Kandy to celebrate Christmas in a meaningful manner. This time we selected CP/Denu/Amunupura Vidyalaya Menikdiwela which is an underprivileged school. 35 students are currently being studying there. They have from Grade 1 – 5. Almost all the children are coming from low income earning families. We donated them 50 packs of stationery items which included 20 different necessary stationery items and along with some snacks. The project was held on 9th of January 2019 and chaired by Rtr. Harsha Herath, Rtr. Haleem Akmal and Rtr. Heshan Wickramathilake. We, the RAC Kandy believes that Education is a right for every student. Due to disparities in income level, we can observe some students in Sri Lanka face difficulties and going through hardships to continue with their studies. But our intention is to find such students and give a helping hand for them in a way possible for us. Through this, we sincerely expect to reach a high literacy rate in our county and will hope to bring our country residents full of well-educated and intelligent citizens. Summed up in a few words we believe the only weapon that we have as a nation to go ahead and face the world is EDUCATION.
